LHDA Youth Programme Activities at Machache

The Acting Chief Executive of the Lesotho Highlands Development Authority
(LHDA), Mrs. Refiloe Tlali, will officially handover 6 footballs, 6 netballs, 6
volley balls 2 volley nets, set of 2 netball nets to the pupils of Ino Primary
School in the Machache area. The handing over ceremony will take place on
Wednesday 4 June 2003 from 10:00 am.
The gesture is part of an ongoing LHDA Youth Programme whose aim is to
enhance participation in, and love of sports; to encourage physical fitness,
develop healthy bodies and minds as a necessary ingredient/ vehicle for their
academic achievement.
Ino Primary School is one of the Schools in the Machache area that have been directly affected by the Lesotho Highlands Water Project through resettling of the communities from Ha Mohale and the surrounding areas to give way to the construction of Mohale dam. The integrated resettle/ host community has increased the number of pupil population and the LHDAYouth Programme is especially directed at the general development of youth in the area.
