Impoundment Arrangements
The available valves for river releases, elevation and flows are shown in Annex D of the agreement. A table of probable river flows is also presented.
The proposed impoundment arrangements are as follows:
- On receipt of Bank's "no objection", commence impoundment with release through the 300 115 valves;
- On reaching water level 1985 masl, release 45% of MAR at Mohale Dam (308.8 MCM) until such time as the condition in paragraph 10(a) is fulfilled;
- Release 25% of MAR at Mohale Dam (308.8 MCM) until such time as the conditions in paragraph (b) and (c) are fulfilled;
- When all impoundment conditions are met initiate agreed initial IFR release regime
