Liphofung Cave and Cultural Historical
Site
[Brochure.pdf]
 |
The site, although small (4,5 ha), has been
intensively developed to fully interpret the San art in the shelter and the
early Basotho history of the area.
|
|
 |
There is a site museum, and local guides will take you
around and interprete the historical, cultural and natural significance of the
site and the area generally. Cultural
displays, such as choral singing, and traditional dancing can be arranged by
prior booking. There is a craft
outlet, and light refreshments are available.
Besides the cultural and historical aspects of the site
there are also various interesting geological features to be seen, both en–situ
and in the surrounding areas. As
the Moteng valley is densely populated it is a great
opportunity to view the traditional Basotho
way of life. |
